About The Role

Our .NET Technical Lead is a critical role within our IT department, providing technical leadership to a cross-functional software development team comprising software engineers, QA and business analysts.

You will be a delivery focussed and passionate technical leader with the ability to motivate a cross functional team to build a market leading product!

The nature of the role is likely to evolve over time as the platform transitions from the desktop to the cloud.  This will provide a wealth of opportunities to learn and develop skills in a wide range of technologies, including but not limited to: .NET associated languages and frameworks, JavaScript and associated frameworks e.g. React.js and DevOps practices e.g. continuous delivery.

You will be accountable for the development of corporate applications and services using .net and related technologies and analyse the business requirements and design of appropriate solutions. In addition to providing strong technical leadership, direction and mentoring to the .NET development team, you will need to liaise with other stakeholders in the business as appropriate.

About You

Prior experience of successful technical leadership is essential along with a keen interest in technology and above all a passion for helping teams succeed!
To be successful in the role you will excellent understanding of the .Net framework and thorough knowledge of relational database management systems, ideally SQL Server and MySQL. This will include having a good understanding software design and how it relates to performance, maintainability, scalability and testability in both desktop and web applications.
Using your understanding of test automation frameworks for unit, integration and acceptance tests, you will be able to accurately translate complex technical requirements and specifications into deliverables, accurately report on progress and identify and enact strategies for continuous improvement. 
Providing mentorship and coaching to junior staff in technologies and development methods used with the team/department is essential to this role and requires the ability to work effectively both individually, as part of a team and as a team leader.
You will need need strong interpersonal skills including the ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences including senior stakeholders, and have exceptional oral and written communication skills. Finally, a degree in computer science or a related discipline would be an advantage.
