About The Role

  • To deliver, maintain and develop the communications and engagement strategy for Bestway Retail. 
  • To create and issue effective, engaging and ‘right first time’ retailer facing communications in line with the Bestway communications framework and tone of voice.
  • To own and drive internal engagement with the retailer facing editorial plan.
  • To align all retailer facing communications to the strategic objectives and priorities of the business.

To be the gatekeeper for all retailer facing messaging:

  • To ensure consistency in tone, language and approach for all retailer facing communication materials.
  • To ensure that that all communications are suitably written, targeted and scheduled for a busy, diverse and complex audience.
  • To work closely with the Retail Operations team to ensure that all information is issued ‘right first time’.
  • To ensure that all content on the retailer website is engaging, relevant, current and prioritised appropriately.
  • To ensure that emergency communications are issued on time and to standard.
  • To work with internal stakeholders to write best practice, sales driving and operational tools/guides for retailers to support consistent execution of seasonal events, sales opportunities and essential business practices.
  • To identify opportunities to develop and simplify the Bestway communications framework and retailer website.
  • To advise internal stakeholders on relevant and effective communications strategies for retailer facing operational, tactical (sales driving) and strategic activities.
  • To support the development of the Retail Communications Executive.
  • To provide detailed briefings for key internal stakeholders including the Customer Support Team and the field-based Business Development Team.
  • To build effective relationships with retailers and Business Development Managers to support the development of the communications framework and relevance of messaging.
  • To track and grow retailer engagement with and readership of Bestway communication platforms.

About You

Knowledge & experience essential in ;

  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint (intermediate / advanced)
  •  Strong communication and grammatical skills, both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail
  • Creative thinker who brings fresh new ideas to life
  • Excellent organisational skills, flexibility and an ability to prioritise workload in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Presentation skills
  • Available for some UK travel
  • Occasional ‘on-call’ / weekend support required in case of emergencies

Desirable

  • Experience of producing communications in a customer centric environment
  • Experience of leading communications for a diverse and complex audience
  • Strong digital skills
  • Operational knowledge of the convenience/grocery industry
  • Experience of using Dotmailer or similar e-marketing service

Experience of using Sitecore or similar content management system
