About The Role

We are looking for someone who has worked in a similar role within professional services or alternatively a paralegal/legal secretary seeking a change in directionpreferably based in York, Crewe and London.

The legal team has high calibre lawyers closely connected with the retail, trading, marketing and finance teams. They offer pragmatic, sensible legal advice to enable the business to reach its objectives and manage risk.

We are now looking to hire an excellent candidate for our newly created Legal Operations Manager role. The Legal Operations Manager will work closely with the Legal team and colleagues at all levels across the organisation.

The role will involve supporting the Legal Team dealing with legal operations & processes. You will be involved with workload triage, compliance, regulation, data analysis, project management and improving systems. Any experience using HighQ would be a distinct advantage.

You will also have the opportunity to get involved in company secretarial, governance and compliance work under the supervision of the Company Secretary,

Main duties and responsibilities will include: 

  • Directing legal work coming into the team from the business to the most appropriate team member
  • Project management support for major legal projects and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Implementing legal tools and technologies to improve internal operation, any experience using HighQ would be a distinct advantage.
  • Issuing meeting packs for the prevention and compliance committee.
  • Processing legal invoices, performing invoice review and monitoring budgets 
  • Reviewing and preparing simple legal documents such as NDAs, after training and guidance from senior members of the legal team

 

About You

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong team player with excellent organisational and communication skills; high energy; and a desire to learn
  • An effective decision-maker with an ability to think quickly and practically and to be able to multi-task, prioritise work, and handle competing deadlines
  • Previous experience in a similar role within professional services or alternatively a paralegal/legal secretary seeking a change in direction
  • Enjoy a culture of change that seeks out efficiencies, cost savings, and constant improvement.
  • Experienced and proficient with Microsoft Products like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to learn new legal tech such as HighQ.
  • Project management experience would be a distinct advantage.
